Remembering Ken Coshun

This year, we mark the end of an era. Our oldest, and longest serving member and friend, Ken Coshun passed away in January. If you have participated in the race, you met Ken as he was the starting official for most of the races over the last 45 years.

Ken served our club as a board member, secretary, treasurer, and president during his 59 year membership with our club. He was the Key Club advisor at the high school for many years.

As you paddle the river this year, please tip your hat to Ken.

He will be missed.

The Pewaukee Kiwanis RiverRun is a community event that encourages friends and families to float the Pewaukee River.  The Kiwanis Club matches all of the proceeds from the event to assist the Pewaukee Food Pantry in their mission to help struggling families keep food on their tables.

The RiverRun starts in Pewaukee and ends in Frame Park in Waukesha. The seven mile course has flat water in the upper stretches with twisting, rough, fast water at the lower end. Make sure to wear your personal flotation devices and dress appropriately for the weather and the possibility of getting swamped. Participants with children are encouraged to use caution and rely on your own judgement in the rough sections. Spotters will be present at the trickiest locations to assist if you tip over, but will not actively prevent capsizing.

Get those canoes and kayaks ready and challenge your family, friends, and neighbors to a race!

A shuttle bus will be available to transport you between Frame Park and the starting location.
The bus  should make it easier for you to collect your
gear if you don't have vehicles at both ends.

Rides will run every half hour from 7:45 AM until 1:00 PM.

If you need to rent a canoe, please make your reservations with Tip A Canoe prior to the event.
